Neta (哪吒) is the consumer electric-vehicle brand of Hozon New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd., a startup co-founded in October 2014 by Beijing Sinohytec and the Zhejiang Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, originally based in Jiaxing, Zhejiang. After initially developing electric logistics vehicles, Hozon pivoted to the consumer market with the Neta N01 compact SUV in 2018, followed by the Neta U SUV in 2019 and the budget-friendly Neta V hatchback in 2020. The brand later broadened its range with the Neta S sports sedan, the GT coupe, and the Neta L mid-size SUV, while renaming the V as the Neta Aya and the U as the Neta X. Neta expanded aggressively into Southeast Asia, recording a 567-percent year-on-year surge in overseas sales in 2023 across Thailand, Indonesia, and other markets.
