Ciimo was launched in 2011 as a China-only sub-brand of Dongfeng Honda, aimed at budget-minded urban drivers. Its portfolio included micro-electric vehicles and compact SUVs that were essentially Honda models—such as the XR-V—rebadged with unique styling touches and simplified features. Positioned below Honda’s mainstream offerings, Ciimo provided an accessible entry point to joint-venture products during a period of rapid market expansion. As Dongfeng Honda streamlined its business, the Ciimo marque quietly disappeared after 2020, leaving behind a brief but illustrative example of how automakers tailored products specifically for China’s diverse consumer segments.
