The Haval name first appeared on Great Wall Motor’s compact Hover CUV in April 2005 and was spun off as an independent SUV marque in March 2013 under GWM, which was founded in 1984 by Wei Jianjun. Its standout models include the best-selling H6 midsize SUV (launched in 2011), the Jolion compact crossover (2020), and the rugged Big Dog/Dargo (2020). As China’s leading SUV brand—topping domestic SUV sales for nine straight years through 2018 and delivering over one million units annually—Haval boasts extensive dealer coverage and growing exports to other markets.
