JMEV was established in 2015 as the electric-vehicle arm of Jiangling Motors, later reorganized into a joint venture when Renault joined in 2019. Headquartered in Nanchang, China, the brand develops compact electric cars on a modular skateboard platform, sharing components across hatchbacks, sedans and crossovers. Early models included the Yi city-car and EV3 hatchback, followed by the EX5 and EV7 crossovers tailored for urban and suburban drivers. JMEV focuses on affordability and ease of use, integrating connected-car features and simple charging solutions for daily commuters. With production facilities in both Nanchang and Kunming, the company has built a network of retail outlets and service centers across China, while planning modest overseas launches under Renault’s Mobilize brand.
