M-Hero is Dongfeng Motor Corporation’s premium electric off-road brand, unveiled in mid-2022 and officially launched with the 917 model in 2023. Conceived under Dongfeng’s Mengshi vehicle division, M-Hero was founded to blend rugged capability with upscale comfort. Its flagship 917 features four-motor all-wheel drive, a high-voltage skateboard platform, and a choice of pure-electric or range-extended powertrains. The model’s design combines aggressive off-road elements—like skid plates and chunky fender flares—with a refined digital cockpit and panoramic glass roof. Built at a dedicated Wuhan facility, the 917 targets adventure-oriented buyers in China and select overseas markets. As Dongfeng’s answer to the growing premium EV segment, M-Hero aims to deliver both trail-ready toughness and modern technology in a single package.
