Maxus was resurrected in 2011 by SAIC Motor after acquiring the intellectual property of the UK-based LDV Group. Positioned as a global commercial vehicle brand, Maxus developed models such as the V80 panel van (2012), G10 MPV (2014), and the D60 crossover (2019), all built on modular platforms. In 2020, Maxus launched the eDeliver 3 electric van, leveraging an independent rear suspension and a 50 kWh battery offering a 200 km WLTP range. The Euniq 5 electric MPV and T90 pickup expanded its new-energy portfolio. In 2023, Maxus sold over 100,000 vehicles internationally, establishing manufacturing bases in Australia, Spain, and Thailand to serve local markets. Interesting note: Maxus’s Australian plant in Melbourne produces right-hand drive models, reflecting its ASEAN and Oceania focus.
