Dongfeng Nammi (纳米, literally "Nanometre") is the compact battery-electric vehicle division of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, one of China's largest state-owned automakers, formally launched in August 2023 as China's first automotive brand dedicated exclusively to small EVs. The flagship Nammi 01—a subcompact hatchback that rolled off the production line in January 2024—offers lithium iron phosphate battery options of 31.45 kWh and 42.3 kWh with up to 430 km of CLTC range, starting from under $8,500 in China. Sold internationally as the Dongfeng Box or Nammi Box, the model has entered markets including Singapore, Nepal, Norway, Switzerland, and Germany, where it is positioned as one of Europe's most affordable electric cars. In 2025 Dongfeng expanded the lineup with the Nammi 06, a compact crossover SUV unveiled at Auto Shanghai. Leveraging Dongfeng's state-backed manufacturing scale and aggressive pricing, Nammi targets urban commuters and first-time EV buyers worldwide who prioritize affordability and practicality over premium features.
