About Renault Samsung

Renault Samsung Motors (RSM) was launched in July 1994 in Busan, South Korea, as Samsung Motors under the Samsung Group banner. Acquired by Renault in 2000, the company produces models like the SM5 executive sedan, QM6 crossover (based on the Nissan X-Trail), and the XM3 coupe-SUV. The NM3 concept previewed Renault’s future EV lineup in 2022. RSM sold over 150,000 vehicles domestically in 2023, bolstered by exports to Chile and other ASEAN markets. The Busan plant features flexible platforms enabling rapid model updates, enhancing cost efficiency and local responsiveness.
