About Roewe
Roewe was established in 2006 by SAIC Motor after acquiring intellectual property rights from the defunct Rover Group. Initial models, the Roewe 750 and Rover 25-based Rover 45, combined British chassis engineering with Chinese manufacturing. Roewe’s RX5 crossover (2016) and Marvel X electric SUV (2018) led its transition to new-energy vehicles. In 2023, Roewe sold over 200,000 vehicles, strengthened by joint ventures with General Motors for EV components. The brand emphasizes intuitive infotainment and hybrid powertrains, reflecting SAIC’s commitment to sustainable mobility.
