About SWM

Speedy Working Motors (SWM) was founded in Milan in 1971 to produce high-performance motorcycles inspired by enduro racing. After a 2014 acquisition by BRP and Shineray Group, SWM relaunched in 2016 as an automotive brand in Chongqing, China, developing budget-friendly SUVs such as the G01 (2018) and the G05 (2020), utilizing modular platforms derived from Shineray’s SUV expertise. The G01 features a 1.5L turbo engine with 156 hp and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. In 2023, SWM delivered approximately 30,000 vehicles, targeting first-time buyers in smaller cities. Interesting note: SWM’s chassis tuning and suspension settings draw from its motorcycle heritage, prioritizing agile handling.
