About Lucid

Lucid Motors began in 2007 (originally as Atieva) when entrepreneurs Bernard Tse, Sam Weng and Sheaupyng Lin set out to build high-performance electric powertrains. Headquartered in Newark, California, the company launched its first model, the Lucid Air sedan, in 2021—praised for its aerodynamic design, luxurious interior and long-range battery system. Following Air, Lucid introduced the Gravity SUV in late 2025, expanding its lineup into the premium electric-utility segment. Backed by significant capital investments, Lucid operates a modern manufacturing facility in Arizona and collaborates with established automakers on driveline technology. With a focus on efficiency, cutting-edge cabin technology and bespoke service, Lucid aims to rival traditional luxury marques in the electric-vehicle arena.
